Music has the power to connect, inspire, comfort, and heal. At Meadowlark Music Therapy Services, I provide individualized, evidence-based music therapy services in the comfort of your home or nursing facility, helping clients of all ages and abilities achieve meaningful therapeutic goals through music.
Music therapy is a clinical and evidence-based healthcare profession in which music is used intentionally to address physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and communication goals. Music therapy sessions are facilitated by a Board-Certified Music Therapist and are tailored to each individual's unique strengths, needs, interests, and goals.
Music therapy is much more than simply listening to music. Sessions may include singing, instrument playing, movement, songwriting, improvisation, reminiscence, relaxation techniques, neurologic music therapy interventions, and other music-based experiences designed to support growth, wellness, and quality of life.
I provide music therapy services for individuals across the lifespan, including:
Children & adolescents
Adults
Older adults
Individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities
Individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, or emotional challenges
Individuals receiving hospice or palliative care
Individuals seeking increased social engagement, self-expression, or overall well-being
Services are personalized to meet each client's needs, abilities, and therapeutic goals.
Each client begins with an assessment to identify strengths, needs, preferences, and treatment goals. Based on this assessment, an individualized treatment plan is developed.
Sessions are typically 30-45 minutes and may focus on goals such as:
Emotional regulation
Communication skills
Cognitive functioning
Memory support
Pain management
Stress reduction
Motor skills
Social engagement
Self-expression
Quality of life enhancement
Family members and caregivers are welcome to participate when appropriate.
